When the word touch less is used the first thing that comes to everyone’s mind is automation. But here we are going to talk about use to laser light to use electrical switches to operate home appliances. The major use of this technology is for the especially abled humans and seniority.

The idea of touch less is to switch the appliance ON & OFF while resting at a comfortable location. This includes the use of laser of particular wavelength to operate as a message carrier. On the receiving end the photodiodes is used to activate the circuit which consist of transistor, which allows the switch to change its state when laser is projected for a time period of 3 seconds. The range of this laser is around 10 metres which approximately covers a living area. Here a scenario can be imagined where a seniority is on bed and don’t need homemaker’s help to switch the fan or light of the room.

Thus this switch will be useful in the hospitals or at their own place of residence for patients on beds. These people face challenges when it comes to switching home appliances “ON or OFF”. The goal behind the development of such switch is to reduce daily challenges for people to live a better life.
